Rotary Donate a Car

Donate a Car

Thank you to Rotary Club of White Rock Millennium, B.C., for including Wheelchair Foundation Canada in the group of charities which will benefit from their "Rotary Donate A Car" charitable fundraising program.

The Rotary Donate A Car program provides a charitable alternative for those individuals who would like to dispose of an old vehicle, including boats and motor homes, and receive a tax receipt for their donation. Vehicles can be in any condition and towing is included in the service. All proceeds support the "good works of Rotary" both locally and internationally and now also support Wheelchair Foundation of Canada.

Khost Province - Afghanistan

February 09, 2005
This man is a very courageous and hard working person. He worked in the field for hours to grow crops and earn a livelihood for his family.

One day he was working in the fields and hit a landmine which made him a double amputee. This happened some fifteen years ago and after that he needs other people to help him move and fulfill his needs. He was crying when he was telling his story that he was always helping other needy people and now he himself is in need of help from other people.

He said he still wants to work in the fields but he can't because he can't move. He said he received a wheelchair from some one long before which was destroyed a few years before. After that he didn't have any wheelchair and he was in need of other people's help to go anywhere.

Now he received a wheelchair so he can live his life without the help of other people. He was told by LIFE staff that these wheelchairs are a gift of friendship from Wheelchair Foundation USA to the Afghan disabled people.

He shoke hands with a LIFE staff member and said, he really appreciates this generous donation from the American people and extends his friendship to them.
